ATARI APPOINTS NEW DISTRIBUTOR FOR FINLAND
Slough, Berkshire, 10th May 1993.
Atari Corporation is pleased to announce the appointment of ION Finland Oy
as its official full products Distributor in Finland.
Negotiations were held before and during Cebit '93 Fair in Hanover with
a number of interested parties. ION emerged as the clear choice.
Mr Paul Welch, Atari's International Distributor Manager, commented,
"ATARI has a strong product range which the Finnish market should respond
well to."
"As well as the first personal multi-media system - the Falcon 030, ATARI
also offers the highest technical specification hand-held console: the
Atari Lynx, and also delivers possibly the lowest entry cost video game
console with its VCS range."
"We want our Distributors to make a strong commitment in a highly
professional manner. Mr Lauri Valjakka, a former executive of INFO,
fulfils the criteria that we sought."
ION Finland Oy will be in charge of all Atari products sold via
distribution channels.
In addition, SLO Viestinta (Engineering Division) will supply Falcon 030
to the specialist professional audio and video market.
No other companies are permitted to represent Atari's interests in
Finland.
ION Finlands Oy's offices are located in Helsinki at:
Ruosilantie 14 B
00390 Helsinki
Finland
